About Jamie Hempsall
Jamie Hempsall is one of a handful of British Institute of Interior Design (BIID) members in the Nottinghamshire, Lincolnshire and Derbyshire Regions. BIID achieved institute status in 2009 and was previously known as BIDA (the British Interior Design Association). The Interior Design Institute is based at Units 109 - 111 The Chambers, Chelsea Harbour, London SW10 0XF. To achieve membership of the British Institute of Interior Design Jamie has had to demonstrate significant design experience and good working practice. As well as adhering to an ongoing code of ethics and attends seminars and workshops as part of his commitment to BIID and their continual professional development programme.
Originally established 45 years ago, the British Institute of Interior Design is the only professional organisation for interior designers which has been granted Institute status by the Secretary of State as the pre-eminent body in the field. The British Interior Design Association was awarded Institute status by the Minister of State in 2009. The BIDA itself was formed in 2002 through the amalgamation of the highly respected Interior Decorators & Designers Association (originally set up in 1966) and the globally recognised International Interior Design Association (UK Chapter). The organisation has representation nationally and locally with regional chapters covering Nottinghamshire, Lincolnshire and Derbyshire as well of a range of events in London.
