Living Room - London

Our London based client loved the space in their living room created by from a conversion undertaken by a previous occupant, but had always felt the space still felt like two rooms.

Our remit was to design a single coherent room that combined favourite family pieces with new sofas, side tables and lighting to create a relaxed, adult room for watching TV, reading and entertaining.

We used cactus green walls and oyster silks as a base palette, combining these with warm velvets and wool tartan for a feeling of soft sophistication.

The floor was stripped back and retreated to bring out the warmth of the wood.

Shelves were backed with Brian Yates metallic papers to provide an extra dimension and de-cluttered to improve the ambient feel.

The client's existing television was repositioned on a low wall bracket with all other AV equipment housed discretely in a cupboard with "magic eye" remote for easy use.

Antique mirrors in the form of an overmantle and mosaic wall created subtle extra light and assisted room dimension and conformity.

Multi-level lighting in chrome and silk completed the design.
