Richard Bond is Managing Director for Jamie Hempsall Ltd, joining the company in 2006.
Prior to this Richard pursued a career in the field of Finance and qualified as a Chartered Management Accountant over 20 years ago. He spent a number of years in accounting and business analyst roles, before adding practical management experience in Hotel, Leisure & Retail Operations, IT and Marketing. The majority of this experience was gained from senior roles held with Tesco Plc and Center Parcs Ltd, most latterly as Board member for four years.
Richard decided to join with Jamie in this family venture to allow him to utilise more of his creative side, whilst still drawing upon previously acquired business and project management skills and applying these in a practical environment.
He works in all aspects of the consultancy, with particular emphasis on Commercial Projects. Here he focuses on ensuring end results that have cutting edge design, but are easy to maintain and practical to use – satisfying clients’ staff and customers.
Richard writes a number of Jamie Hempsall Ltd interior design columns for various publications including Yorkshire Post (a nationally published daily), Retford Times & Chase Magazine. He has also contributed to magazines such as Period Living, 25 Beautiful Homes, Homes & Gardens and Essential Kitchens, Bathrooms & Bedrooms.
He and Jamie appear regularly on BBC Radio to offer interior advice to listeners.
In his spare time, Richard is a keen supporter of Macmillan Cancer Support, working with them in both major fundraising and strategic capacities. In 2014, Richard was appointed by the Board of Macmillan to chair their UK Volunteer Forum.
Richard is a Member of the Society of British & International Design and the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants.
Samantha joined the team in 2014, taking over the role of Office & Administrative Manager.
She has been involved in the world of property since the age of 18 when she started work at a chain of Estate Agents. As a result of her time in Estate Agency, Samantha has an in-depth knowledge of the property market where she has specialised in all aspects of new build; renovations; existing builds (Grade Listed, etc.); land valuations for residential developments and property valuations for both residential sales and lettings.

Her young family occupies all of her spare time, but also help keep her on her toes when it comes to helping develop rooms to satisfy the needs of the younger members of our clients’ households.
